Attended A&E this morning with a gynae related issue and was impressed with all the staff.
Was attended by Dr. Gemma a GP who was caring and compassionate as well as being incredibly knowledgable and explained things clearly and and with tact. She was a real credit to our junior doctors.
The nurse, Flavia was also lovely. I don't like needles so she asked me whether I wanted to know what she was doing and then proceeded to talk me through what she was doing and how it was going. She was friendly, caring and professional.
The porter, Ian who took me to a different department was also very thoughtful and caring - every bump was announced so I was ready and he was a genuinely nice guy.
When I returned to A&E, a male nurse whose name I didn't catch welcomed me back in a very cheery manner.
I couldn't commend the staff highly enough. Working in the NHS myself, it was lovely to have such a positive experience. High praise to those mentioned above. They made a very scary experience a lot less scary and I was very reassured. Thank you.
My room was clean and well maintained. The WC was however not the best cleaned and there was blood on the seat and no hand gel.
I was treated in Chelsea wing and I must admit the care and treatment were superb
I was given a new hip 2 days before Christmas and discharged on Christmas Eve and I cannot fault the staff in any way.
It's a very good hospital,
Once I had a poorly blood test performed - a male nurse left me with bruised arm which didn't heal for long.
Another day when I had a negative experience from the staff was after my operation when I was literally bullied.
After seeing a doctor in outpatients I was referred for an ultrasound guided injection. Was expecting at lease about 3 months wait. To my surprise I got a phone call 3 weeks later asking if I could come in next week.
4 weeks! Can't believe how quickly it was turned round. My appointment was early, 9.15.probably before normal clinics and/or rounds as the doctor who referred me wanted to be there when treatment was given.
It is good to see doctors and hospitals trying to avoid a backlog of patients by seeing them early like this.
Top marks!
Our child had an 8 day stay at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital after an operation - the staff on the High Dependency Unit are totally amazing. We were extremely impressed.
Nothing to add
Always clean and staff are professional at all encounters I have had
I received excellent care from all staff in the general surgery department, Plastics outpatients (Mr Abela) and for the entire week I was in hospital. They tried to accommodate my timings for my surgery and advised me well both before and after the surgery. You are all doing an excellent job, thank you so much for your great service under the NHS.
The MRI Dept was fully booked for 3 months. I went privately and then I was offered an earlier appointment on the day after my private appointment. I recommend you take the appointment given and ask for an earlier one if there is a cancelation.
